Where Faith Meets the Journey

Hi, I am Zachery Hazard! I am a father, teacher, and lifelong seeker of the quiet ways God forms us. I grew up in an Italian and Filipino Catholic family where prayer, tradition, and the steady love of my parents and grandmother shaped my earliest sense of faith.
Before becoming a teacher, I was involved in national radio broadcasting, where I learned the power of storytelling and the importance of listening to people’s hidden stories.
Today, I write from the intersection of faith, family, childhood formation, and the classroom. My debut memoir, Hazardous Travels, explores how God uses small, ordinary moments to form the human heart. I hope my work encourages readers to notice grace in the places they least expect it.
The Vision Behind Hazardous Travels: Reflections and Formation
Hazardous Travels: Reflections and Formation will be the first book released in the series because it captures the heart of the project; helping people see their lives through the lens of faith, reflection, and purpose. While the full memoir tells the longer story of my upbringing, travels, and teaching journey, these reflections grew into their own work as I began noticing the deeper spiritual themes behind each chapter of my life.
Shaped with the help of a retired professor and a Deacon from the Diocese of Orange, this volume blends story, Scripture, reflection, and practical application. It is designed for parish groups, men’s formation, book clubs, and anyone seeking a grounded path toward deeper faith.
My hope is that this book prepares the ground for the larger memoir that follows and helps readers pause, reflect, and notice the grace already present in their own lives.
About
My name is Zachery Hazard
I’m a Catholic educator, author, and speaker who believes God works quietly through the people and places that shape our lives. I’ve traveled to more than forty countries, and those experiences along with my Filipino and Italian heritage continue to form how I see faith, culture, and vocation.
Some of the saints who accompany me on the journey are St. Christopher, St. Raphael, and St. Joseph. At home, faith and family traditions ground me, and in parish life I’ve served as an altar server, lector, and active member of Catholic men’s formation. These influences all come together in my writing and speaking, especially in Hazardous Travels, a series about grace, calling, and the mission field found in everyday life.
Time spent in Torgorme Village, Ghana learning firsthand about education, community, and the beauty of global connection. This experience deeply shaped the themes behind Hazardous Travels.
Mission Statement
My mission is to help people recognize God’s presence in the ordinary moments of their lives. Through stories from the classroom, encounters across continents, and the quiet movements of grace in my own journey, I hope to reveal how faith is formed not only in dramatic experiences but in the daily choices, challenges, and moments of wonder that shape who we become.
